Understanding the New Probation Rules for Buyers

Our Buyer Probation Policy just got an upgrade, these changes are designed to make your GovDeals experience more efficient, fair, and consistent from day one. Here's what you need to know.

No More Levels

One of the significant changes to our probation policy is the elimination of our complex multi-level 90-day probation period. Under the new policy, buyers can now skip the probation period if they meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • GD-Blog-Image-Size-400x300
    Spend a total of $5,000
  • Successfully pay and pick up 3 (three) transactions
  • Submit a $1,000 bid deposit.

Once these benchmarks are met, you'll gain immediate and unrestricted access to our platform.

While on Probation

If you’re just getting started, here’s what you can expect:

  • You can participate in up to 3 (three) active auctions or sales at a time
  • You can only make credit card payments up to $1,000

This allows you to learn and explore multiple auctions while getting familiar with our platform, policies, and procedures.

End of Probation

Once you’ve completed the probation period:

  • You can participate in any number of auctions
  • Your credit card limit increases to $5,000

These changes reflect our commitment to creating a transparent and supportive marketplace for everyone. Additionally, they ensure a smooth transition into full participation while maintaining a secure and fair environment for all.

Our dedicated customer support team is ready to assist you every step of the way. Whether you have questions about the new policy or need help navigating the platform, we’re just a message away. We encourage all buyers to review the updated policy and reach out if you need assistance.

Happy Bidding!
